Hey Everybody,
We hope this message finds everyone enjoying the last part of a beautiful Michigan summer. We have a little news to share. maybe august has been enjoying our gigs as much as ever, but we find ourselves at a crossroads in our musical careers. It takes a lot of effort and commitment to keep the maybe august machine working. The last few months have demonstrated that we can no longer put the time and effort into maybe august that it takes be make us play up to our expectations as a band. Various commitments and scheduling difficulties make it impossible to book new gigs and devote the time needed to develop new original material. It is with sadness and some regret that we announce we will be putting maybe august into indefinite hiatus, starting immediately.
More than anything, we want to thank the venues and fans that have kept us going for almost ten years. For many, it doesn't really do you justice to call you fans - we feel that we have grown into the maybe august extended family. We hope you know who you are. Together, we have shared triumphs and tragedies including the untimely deaths of family and close friends. We have shared marriages, graduations, births, divorces, crazy road trips, weird venues, a lot of tequila, many hangovers, and above all... laughter - lots of laughter.
We want to emphasize that we were friends before we were band-mates and we always will be great friends and musical brothers. We also have some un-recorded originals we like a lot and we will try to get into the studio soon, there may be more m.a. songs coming.
We look forward to whatever comes next, musically and otherwise.......
